Inspiration

I love how artificial leaves have been layered to create a full length skirt,  keeping the organic essence of the plant in the piece created.

The combination of detailed embroidery and embossed 3D flowers and greenery creates a more varied and organic look and also expresses the texture found in the wildlife. I hope to use a similar technique throughout my textile work.

I love the wild and natural look to this headpiece. The combination of all the textures and colours creates a beautiful mess, leaving a very authentic look which I love.

The heavy layering of these paper leaves portrays the richness of the foliage found in the rainforest. I also like the simple addition of some flowers to add colour, variety and a more organic sense to the piece.
I love this tree branch/root inspired piece. I like the texture and the layering that creates a very unique look. This has inspired me for a possible neck piece for my final piece.
I like the heavy  branch or vein pattern on this dress, and the embroidery on the bodice which continues into the skirt slightly. I also love the flowing fabric used, creating a more elegant and organic look. This has inspired me to interpret my close up studies of veins in leaves into a silk painting.
